Beef Stew, Tonights Dinner


RECIPE  Serves 2-3


2 Large garlic cloves (Chopped)

400g Diced Beef

4 Mushrooms (sliced)

1 Onion (Finely sliced)

1 Pint of Bitter/Ale

3 Small Carrots

100g of Bacon (cut into small strips)

Olive Oil

1 Tbsp Flour

Dash of Nutmeg

4 Sprigs of Thyme


1. Brown the Diced beef and bacon in a little oil in a saucepan whilst heating a casserole dish in the oven at 170C

2. Once browned, remove the meat from the saucepan and add the mushrooms, carrots and onions and cook on a medium heat until softened (about 6 minutes.)

3. Once softened, add the vegetables and meat to the casserole dish along with the ginger, nutmeg, thyme, bitter and flour and give a good stir.

4. Cover and place the casserole dish back in the oven and cook for 2 hours (The longer the better!)

5. Serve with a side of your choice!! Enjoy
